Ed Kemper graduated from George Washington Law School in Washington D.C. with a JD degree with honors. He was on the staff of the George Washington Law Review.

He is admitted to practice before all of the Hawaii Courts as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.  He holds the highest rating for professionalism and ethical behavior from Martindale Hubbell (an av rating).

Besides practicing in the field of personal injury litigation, commercial litigation and general business advice, Ed was the Editor in Chief of the Hawaii Bar Journal, the legal publication of the Hawaii Bar Association, for many years and is currently on the Editorial Board of the Journal.

Over the years he has written many articles for the Hawaii Bar Journal on such topics as the antitrust laws, Hawaii’s unfair practices act, civil motion practice and other topics. In addition, the Bar Journal has published his interviews the Chief Justice of the Hawaii Supreme, various Hawaii Federal District Court judges, and many of the Appellate and Circuit Court judges. Mr Kemper has tried cases in all of the various levels of the trial courts in Hawaii including the Federal District Court. He has even tried cases in Mainland courts.

In the area of commercial litigation, he has handled breach of contract cases, legal malpractice, corporate ownership disputes, securities and antitrust law violations, real estate buyer and/or sellers disputes, landlord and tenant issues, summary possession, foreclosure matters, and other business issues.

Regarding his personal injury practice, he has handled many types of auto accidents, slip and fall cases and even an occasional dog bite case.

Besides his litigation background Mr. Kemper can and does provide advice on the business transactions and the creation and review of business contracts.

Besides practicing law on a full time basis, Mr Kemper is also the producer and host of the Island Driver TV show on Oceanic Cable (channels 16, 96, and 1016). Community service has always been important to Mr. Kemper. He serves on the Board of Directors and as an officer of a Community Health Center in Kalihi (Kokua Kalihi Valley), the Epilepsy Foundation of Hawaii, the Downtown Exchange Club, and Friends of Kailua High School. Mr. Kemper also serves on various homeowners association boards.

When he is not involved in work or community activities, Ed enjoys racing his Sports 2000 racecar at SCCA events and running in various local running events.
